Back in Sarnia! Lanxess, Inc., contacted me and had me speak to their entire group of employees for a week and all ten presentations went well! Thank you Ron Hollis for the opportunity to share this presentations with your company and I hope that it is still resounding in the ears and minds of the plant employees.
March 2012
Beaumont, Texas was a wonderful trip. Team had me speak on their behalf in front of Exxon/Mobil contractor meeting. Having over 100 people in the meeting makes for an exciting presentation for any speaker. Then Team used my services to speak at the Flint Hills Refinery in Port Author close by for their contractor council. After some technical difficulties, we were finally able to have the presentation that was more than what the group expected. Hopefully, the message will stay on their minds to keep their awareness up in all surroundings.
February 2012
In Sarnia, Canada at the request of the Team’s central branches of Canada as they kick off their year with the attitude of safety. I met several other companies who participated in these meetings and it was exciting to see their efforts to help people stay healthy and safe.
December 2011
In Borger, Texas, 45 miles from the refinery where I was injured. Conoco/Phillips hosted a contractor safety council where I was invited to come and speak on behalf of Team, Inc representatives Bill Hall and Mike Bradley. Thank you for the welcome to your plant and I hope that the presentation affected the safety atmosphere in the plant.

Team Industrial Services; LA, California!
I was able to speak in front of a group of technicians that represented all of the groups that Team employs! I believe that Pat Jackson and Bill Pigeon did a marvelous job at bringing the group together and encouraging their involvement. Having a meeting that early in the morning and an attendance of 140+ shows the technician’s enthusiasm about their work and the importance of safety. I look forward to returning to your facilities and being of help in any way I can.

Joe Kulcan, it was great to see you again! I absolutely love the ideas you have and the excitement you show when trying to get a message to your technicians. The opportunity you gave me a year ago to come and speak was wonderful, but to have the chance again to come to the Team branches in the San Francisco area, wow, thank you so much. I indeed enjoyed the pleasure of sharing my testimony with the technicians at the meeting and hope that your branches found the questions that Carmen answered useful in making the right decisions for a “Lifestyle of Safety!”
Late August 2011
I had not seen the inside of a control room in nearly 4 ½ years, but my visit to the Shell Martinez Refinery in Martinez, California allowed me to see one and feel comfortable again. Through people that had seen my presentation and them spreading the word, a lady by the name of Lynley Harris who is the S, H, & E supervisor contacted me inquiring about my availability to speak at the refinery. Through many messages and ideas, she and Tammy Gard were able to schedule and have me come and speak through a three day event beginning on a Saturday evening August 27, then on the morning of Sunday August 28, and then Monday August 29 through the day.
On the evening of the 27th my wife and I met with Mrs. Harris at the Shell site and proceeded to the control room where I gave my first presentation and the plant “streamlined presentation live to other control rooms in the facility where people who would normally not be able to attend this meeting were able to watch. Afterward, we were led by Mrs. Harris and others to the control rooms at the refinery where the operators could then ask any questions they had about the message I gave. We did the same on Sunday with Ray Jones. Monday I spoke at the “Club House” and appreciated the turn out for the presentation.
Thank you Shell Martinez so much for the chance to share my message with you. I was particularly impressed by the idea of PPE vending machines throughout the plant. It is ideas of making PPE, safety, and information as quickly and readily available as possible as your plant has that helps make differences in peoples lives.
August 2011
Wow, what to behold the beauty of the state of Alaska! Mark Brady asked me to return to his branch and speak for Team at the Alyeska facility in Fairbanks, Alaska. I had the chance to speak with the Team-Peak Branch in August of 2010 while I was in the state and was very thankful to be able to return and share my story with the world known company of Alyeska Pipeline.
I was welcomed warmly at the Team-Peak Branch office by Lorri Robertson who helped me in getting where I needed to go, scheduling the meetings, and using my services to the advantages of Team. After all I had flown across three time zones, so I encouraged them to use me while I was there! So, not only did I have the privilege at speaking at the contractor meeting at Alyseka in Fairbanks, Alaska, but also had the honor of speaking to the Houston Contracting Company there as well.
The HCC group showed its standard for safety by being able to immediately call a safety meeting, bring in their employees, and participate in the presentation as much as they did. Thank you for your interest.
The contractor council at Alyeska Pipeline offices proved to me their goal for achieving zero injuries is more than just words spread on posters and bulletin boards. The group allowed me to sit in on their meeting after my presentation and I found it interesting how each group represented gave an accounting to their safety work over the past weeks. It not only keeps people from becoming complacent, but also show the accountability to each other that each person counts at the worksite.
(To Alyeska Pipeline; Thank you for the wonderful gift you handed me after the presentation. I have really enjoyed since and will for many years to come!)

I had another fantastic chance to visit Team Branch 237 and seeing Jerry and Dave’s guys at the branch. The technicians at this site have such an outlook for one another that it seems like a big family. The branch not only invited me for another chance to give them my story of the injury and the importance of PPE, but they also invited me to stay to participate in their OSHA 10 training class that was given by the safety director Bob Fandray for the rest of the week. This not only allowed me to enjoy their experienced knowledge from the jobsites, but also to gain my OSHA 10 certification. Thank you for the blessing guys and keep up the good work!

Dear BASF Chemical Company in Monaca and Evans City, Pennsylvania,
Thank you so much for having me in both of your locations in the Pittsburgh area. It was impressive to see the amount of safety will power that your employees must show in order to keep things in order in such an environment as they work in. I also appreciated the self motivated interest of those who chose to come to the presentation that your sites employed me to come and give. It shows the desire of your employees and their resistance to apathy and complacency. Thank you for having me and I look forward to visiting more of your company cites as I am sure they have the same desires for safety as those you have shown to me at yours.
April 2011
I revisited the Team Industrial Branch in Blackwood, NJ this month and the meeting was fantastic. I would like to thank Dave and Ron for the reach out and assurance their first priority is safety for the crew. With the assistance of Bob Fandray, visiting the Team branches in the North East part of the country has been a pleasure.
